I have recently contemplated starting this large endeavor (and the huge time commitment in doing so), and this so happens to be the time that I have the ‘required’ amount of time to get this set-up. I am not a writing major, or a middle aged adult with nerdy ambitions, in fact I am a college student that is obsessively obsessed with sports since grade school. I follow the NFL and MLB exclusively and pour many hours reading endless articles about each.
Recently, I have become overly attached to fantasy baseball and spend countless time online reading blogs and articles that help my team hover around the top 5 in a 20 team 8X10 mixed league. It is deeper than most leagues that are out there, and has some uniqueness attached to it. Due to this many sites, comments, and yahoo “insiders” do not cover enough players to fulfill my deep league I play in. I am only in one league because it allows me to have continued focus throughout the year, and have unbiased time devotion (aka, if one team is doing poorly I do not have the option of not caring).
As I have stated, I have a deep love for the game. I have been fortunate enough to be in such a league, and have also been fortunate to have so much time to give to this game. I am a much better football in-game analyzer, but I have this knack for doing well, and choosing my players. So instead of a Yahoo style article, my friends over at Razzball have a style that I want to mimic, but not copy their information. I want to introduce players and talk about what I feelings I have towards them. I will analyze their recent production, what they should do, what I feel they will do, and other thoughts I have had on those players I pick and choose from for that day.
My main focus will not be on the obvious big name players, unless their recent performances deserve such a call-out (aka, slumps or hot streaks). Instead, I will be targeting the players that are lesser known to the general public, and to help those of us alike in deeper leagues. I will plan on starting with just a few players, and then add more and more information that I gather as the year goes on.
This is a blog dedicated to baseball, and fantasy player’s endeavors. I look forward to comments, personal advice, productive criticism, questions, and debate. I hope this is helpful and will benefit more than just me.
